Why I Teach
When I was in college, I was planning to become a physical therapist. However, after receiving a job in college tutoring fifth graders, I realized I came home happy every day after work. I quickly changed my major to Secondary Education.
After college, I joined Teach For America Dallas-Ft. Worth and was placed in Dallas ISD at H. Grady Spruce High School.
On top of teaching Biology, Anthony coaches football and enjoys the challenge of motivating and leading teenagers of Dallas ISD on a daily basis.
I feel the most pride when students succeed and I’m able to play a small role in that. There’s nothing better than seeing your student go to college and then come back to visit you. I didn’t want to be a teacher who bounced around to different schools; I wanted to invest in the community in Dallas ISD.
